After breakfast together, the three of us set off north to Woodlands. Our destination was BW Monastery, a magnificent Chinese temple completed only a few years ago, which impresses with its golden splendour and modern openness.
Rituals for prosperity and purification

Right at the entrance we met the Yellow Jambhala, the god of wealth.

We took part in the beautiful ritual of pouring water over the statue. The cool water and the colourful flowers symbolise not only the wish for financial luck but above all purification from greed and the pursuit of generosity.
The splendour of the main hall

In the Grand Shrine Hall we stood in front of the “Three Saints of the West”. The huge golden figures of Amituofo, Guan Yin and Da Shizhi in the middle of the hall are overwhelming. It was fascinating to learn that the offerings of fruit and flowers on the tables are a reminder of the law of karma and the impermanence of all earthly things.

Positive energy at the prayer wheels

A special moment was turning the prayer wheels. Each one stands for a different wish – from “Great Wisdom” to “Career Success” to “World Peace”. It feels good to pause for a moment while turning them and to picture these positive thoughts.
The big draw: Highest fortune

An absolute highlight was the fortune-stick ritual (Kau Cim). In my mind I asked Guan Yin a question and shook the container until one stick fell out. My stick was number 42 – rated “Shang Shang”, the highest level of fortune! The message of prosperity and harmony matched perfectly with the positive energy we also felt when touching the large “Blessed Gold Bar”.

We ended the day with a meal together. With this “highest fortune” in our luggage, the journey through Singapore feels even more special.
It was a day that strengthened body and soul!
