After another wonderful long sleep and a rich, healthy breakfast, we set off for the airport – today even a little earlier than yesterday. Our goal: to pick up two deaf couples, friends of ours from Munich!
Spectacle at Changi Airport
When we arrived, both couples had already passed through the checks. Together we walked to the famous HSBC Rain Vortex, the huge indoor waterfall. It was fascinating: exactly at 10:00 a rushing sound went through the whole hall and the masses of water fell into the depth. One of our friends immediately caught photo fever and captured the spectacle from every possible corner and direction. Afterwards we enjoyed the relaxed, green atmosphere right next to the waterfall for a while, before we took care of the money matters.
Electric through the city
We took a large taxi together to the hotel. The ride was surprisingly quiet – you could hardly tell whether the engine was running at all. We immediately guessed it was an electric car, which fits modern Singapore perfectly. At the hotel, check-in for our friends was lightning fast. We were even allowed to have a quick look upstairs: the rooms are very small and there is hardly any space for the suitcases, but for the stay it is completely fine.
Japanese lunch in Novena
We walked to Novena station. In the shopping centre there we treated ourselves to a delicious Japanese meal and talked for a long time. But you could see that our friends were bravely fighting against the tiredness after the long flight. Finally, both couples bought tickets for train and bus, so they can be flexible in the coming days and discover many sights. Then we said goodbye and made our way home.
It was a lovely day full of the joy of meeting again!
