A tradition in which people burn paper offerings.

In Singapore, paper offerings are traditionally burned. People burn paper in the form of money, clothes or other objects. It is believed that this benefits the deceased in the afterlife. This practice plays a special role during the Ghost Month, a special month in the Chinese calendar.

It is done to show respect to the ancestors and to ask them for blessings and protection. It is a way of communicating with the dead. In Singapore, a city with many different cultures, this tradition is very important.

But there are also concerns about the environment and safety. For this reason, the government has made suggestions for more environmentally friendly ways to celebrate the tradition. So paper offerings remain an exciting mix of old traditions and modern challenges.
