After another really good long sleep and a hearty breakfast, we set off for Changi Airport. We had a mission: to surprise my cousin Heidi and her husband Michi!
The big reunion
At the big arrivals board in the airport we eagerly followed the countdown until Lufthansa LH 780 was finally shown as landed. When the two of them came through the door, the surprise was perfect! The joy was huge, and first of all we gave each other a big hug. After changing money and getting the travel cards for the metro, we went to Chinatown together.
A hidden gem in Chinatown
Heidi and Michi had booked a place to stay right in the middle of Chinatown. Finding the entrance was not easy at all – the hotel was hidden almost like a little secret! But when we found it, we were delighted: it looks really beautiful there.
Indian food and glittering lights
To end the day, we all went out for Indian food together. The dish tasted great, and we had a lot of fun and good conversation. But you could tell Heidi and Michi had a long journey behind them – their eyes were getting heavier and heavier. Before we said goodbye, we enjoyed the special atmosphere: right now Chinatown is glowing everywhere with beautiful decorations for Chinese New Year. Despite the huge crowds, it was a unique experience.
