The morning started a bit slowly, because we felt exhausted from the long walks of the past few days. But a few stretching exercises helped me get going again. After a message from my cousin, we decided to go to Raffles Place to meet her and Michi.
When the heavens open
We had hardly arrived when the weather turned: it rained so hard, it was as if someone was pouring water out of buckets. We actually wanted to go to the statue of Sir Stamford Raffles, but the rain was far too heavy.
Even the covered walkways were not enough to reach the statue dry. And because my cousin didn’t reply – she had probably forgotten her phone – we had to change our plan.
An artistic discovery
Despite the weather, there was an interesting find by chance: I discovered the famous sculpture „The Thinker“ by Auguste Rodin. I took my time to observe the statue closely while the rain poured down around us.

Retreat to somewhere dry
We escaped into a café, but because the rain simply would not stop, we decided that more sightseeing was not worth it that day.

Luckily, we managed to get home without getting completely soaked. After a cosy dinner, we ended the day quietly.
Read more about the sculpture in my post Powerful Thinking in the City of the Future.
That’s it for today!
